Fudan University insists on international education collaboration
through the course of establishing Software School, in order
to use advanced international education experience for reference,
catch up with counterparts ahead, and eventually reach the goal
of fostering software talents. At present, Ireland occupies
the first place of the world in field of software exportation,
and is in the leading position of software technology and software
education. High schools in Ireland, as well always has good
relation with Fudan University. Therefore, Fudan takes Ireland
as a key partner in fostering software talents.
Fudan University and Dublin College, Ireland officially signed
the collaboration agreement on September 3rd, 2002, which aimed
at the collaboration of cultivating students, who can hold Bachelor
Degree of Science in Software. The agreement reads: From September
2002, the program of co-operation in fostering students between
the two universities began. It is based on the framework of
3 plus 1; that is to say, students can't take the software courses
of fostering collaboration until they finish their one-year
core courses in Fudan. The graduates, who have got required
credits, can get Bachelor Degrees from both Fudan University
and Dublin College. The program consists of 25 courses relating
to compute science, 9 of which are taught in Fudan by senior
teachers from Dublin College, and teachers in Fudan teach the
rest. The two parties will together shape the education guideline
and sort out suitable reference books. The school started to
enroll students from its interior candidates of 2001 for the
program. 50 students are accepted every time. Besides, the two
universities will try to get further education and academic
research collaboration by means of offering courses to graduates,
and exchange of students and teachers.
Through education collaboration, the school will cultivate
first-class students in the nation with international competition.
Meanwhile, various useful teaching methods can be obtained from
renowned universities abroad, which can greatly improve its
curriculum scheme and education target, to finally reach the
international education level.
